Participate in Somerville Open Studios
Somerville Open Studios (SOS) is a 501c3 non-profit organization created and run by Somerville artists and art enthusiasts who volunteer time and energy to create a citywide open studios event. We welcome new ideas and participation from all people interested in promoting the visual arts in Somerville. It's a great way to get involved in the local arts community, meet other artists, and have fun!

Submit Art to the SOS 2015 Artists' Choice Show
Any artist who has already registered for SOS 2015 may submit one work of art to be displayed at the SOS Artists' Choice show. This exhibit is open before SOS weekend, giving the public the chance to see many artists' work in a single location.

Become a Member Artist / Participate in SOS 2015
Any artist who lives in Somerville or maintains a studio in Somerville is invited to become a member artist. All member artists may elect to participate in SOS by exhibiting their work in their studio or home during SOS, held annually on the first weekend in May. Online membership enrollment and registration to participate in SOS 2015 are done concurrently during our registration period starting on December 15, 2014, and ending on January 31, 2015. The end of the registration period is also the deadline to register to participate in SOS.
If the space where you create your art is not suitable for receiving public guests during open studios, you may apply to exhibit in our community space, hosted by Arts at the Armory on Highland Avenue for the past several years. Note that community space is available only to those who otherwise would qualify for membership as stated above. Click the Community Space link at left for additional information.
The SOS Artist Directory is open 10 months of the year (closed only during registration period for the new year). Visitors will select which sites to see during SOS, and will be reminded of artists they saw and loved, based on what they see on the website. If you put good images up people will know that they want to see your work.
